I have created a few of blogs over the final several months that I did not actually publish. I’m not guaranteed why, but I’m going to just go with the strategy that if I considered they were being any fantastic, I’d have concluded composing and printed them!

About this time las 12 months (wow! It was that long in the past, I just looked it up!!) I was asked to be portion of a team exhibition of artists that had been both motivated by or labored together with the river Severn. I practically mentioned no, as I generally witnessed to be completely snowed under with commissions and hardly ever get any time to make nearly anything other than that.
I didn’t say no though…I resolved to dedicate to accomplishing one thing, that had develop into just a minimal outdoors my ease and comfort zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we put on our 1st exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.
The exhibition seemed fantastic and fairly superior income were made, but I want to notify you about our “second” event….Open House……
It was all the courageous notion of Annie Brennan, who we have now all named our “mother superior”. An thought dependent all around similar exhibitions that she’d frequented/listened to of in city centres – all of the “sisters” placing on an exhibition about a weekend, in her dwelling. So, just after some conferences, some treats and a couple drinks, with no promotion finances and no strategy if any person would appear, we resolved to go for it!
Well… I feel the only words to explain this previous weekend are resounding success!! There were 13 of us concerned all alongside one another, and merely by some social media sharing and a bit of leaflet printing on our home printers, men and women did locate out at about it – masses of people in simple fact! It just goes to present that if you place your head to it, and give your really most effective exertion, everything is possible!
For me though, the true success has been getting this awesome group of females (and a single token guy of training course) that have just been so supportive to just about every other in the course of the organisation and the actual celebration. Above the past few weeks, but in particular for the duration of the Open up Household by itself, we chatted about so several things and shared so many laughs. Theres clearly been hugs, but to be truthful, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just just one large continuous hug. The way that the team just gelled was clearly discovered by our guests as one particular of them imagined that we all lived and worked together in Annie’s household!
We’re all distinct ages, from distinctive destinations and backgrounds and have various views, likes and dislikes, and that is unquestionably ok. I really feel so privileged to have been asked to be component of this astounding little group and I just cannot wait to get started wondering about what we do future!
